Kanbanz
Our take
Kanbanz is a good fit for small teams that already live in WordPress and want a Trello-style board without another subscription or account. Everything stays in your own database and nothing loads on the public site. If your team needs time tracking or reports, those come with the paid add-on, or a dedicated project tool may suit you better.
Good
- Unlimited boards and tasks in the free version
- Data stays in your own database, no outside service
- Team roles and private boards
- Loads nothing on the public site
Watch out
- New plugin with no reviews yet
- Time tracking and reports are in the paid add-on
- Only works inside the WordPress admin
Kanbanz turns the WordPress dashboard into a simple project board. Each board has columns such as To do, Doing and Done, and every task is a card you drag from one column to the next. Ready-made board templates cover support, software, marketing and staff onboarding, or you can start from an empty board.
Cards hold the details a team needs: subtasks with a progress bar, labels, priority, a due date that turns red when it passes, files from the media library and comments where you can mention a colleague. A history on each card shows who changed what.
Main features
- Unlimited boards, columns and tasks
- Limits on how many cards a column may hold
- Board view or list view, light and dark mode
- Two new roles, Kanban Manager and Kanban Staff, and boards visible only to their team
- Option to let only managers move a task to the last column
- Notifications in the dashboard and by email
It also connects to the Deskuss helpdesk plugin if you use it, but works fully on its own.
