Redirection
Our take
If you ever change a URL, you need redirects, and this is the simplest free way to manage them. It does one job and does it well. You don't need it if your SEO plugin already handles redirects, as Rank Math does.
Good
- Completely free, no paid version
- Logs 404 errors so you can see broken links
- Regular expressions for bulk redirects
Watch out
- Interface is functional rather than pretty
- Duplicates features if your SEO plugin already has redirects
Redirection sends visitors and search engines from an old address to a new one. Change a post slug, delete a page or restructure your categories, and a 301 redirect keeps the traffic and the links that pointed to the old URL.
The plugin also records every 404 error, so you can see which missing pages people are trying to reach and redirect them with one click. It can create redirects automatically when you change a post’s URL.
Main features
- 301, 302 and 307 redirects
- Log of 404 errors and redirected hits
- Automatic redirect when a post URL changes
- Conditional redirects by login status, browser or referrer
- Regular expressions for redirecting whole groups of URLs
- Import and export, including Apache and Nginx rules
