Our take

Ever Checkout is a lightweight alternative to WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads when all you sell is a handful of files. Buyers pay by card through Stripe or by bank transfer and get their download right away, with protected links. It is very new, with only a few dozen sites using it, so test the full purchase flow before you go live.

Ever Checkout is made for people who sell files rather than physical goods: ebooks, presets, fonts, music, course materials, themes or plugins. You create a product, upload the file, set a price and drop a buy button on any page with a block or a shortcode.

The customer types a name and an email address and pays on Stripe’s own page, so card details never touch your server. After payment they land on a receipt page with the download link and get the same link by email. Each download is checked against the order, so a forwarded link is useless, and a refund switches the download off immediately.
